Ensure the gag does not obstruct breathing. Avoid using gags with individuals who have respiratory issues or difficulty breathing.
Use a gag of appropriate size for the user. It should fit comfortably and not cause pain or excessive strain on the jaw.
Regularly check the gagged person for signs of discomfort, excessive drooling, gagging, or distress. Remove the gag immediately if these occur.
Do not leave a gag in place for extended periods. Remove it periodically to allow the jaw to rest and for the person to hydrate or speak.
Never leave a gagged person unattended. Constant supervision is essential to ensure their safety.
Do not use gags with detachable or small parts that could pose a choking risk. Inspect the gag before each use for damage or loose components.
